Beachwood Canyon Stairwalk #34

This is stairwalk #34, Beachwood Canyon, from the book “Secret Stairs” by Charles Fleming.  These double set of stairs with the planters in the middle are my favorite stairs so far and have been declared an historic landmark.  This 148 step stairway was constructed in 1928.

A stream used to run down the middle between the stairs.  I wonder who takes care of these plants in the middle?  Since it’s an historic landmark I’m assuming the city hires someone.

There are a lot of beautiful homes here.

We met several people who came here to get a picture of the Hollywood sign.

This stone arch was created for an intended gated community known as Hollywoodland.  Residents were to include Bugsy Sieigel, Humphrey Bogart, and Bela Lugosi.
